Busy term for Lotusville Primary School
Pupils’ imaginations were captivated through visual enactment about the importance of nature. February also marked the month of love with Valentine’s Day celebrated with a song and dance programme.
Lotusville Primary School started off the new academic year with a bang, celebrating and commemorating various occasions throughout the term.
The year began with World Read Aloud Day in February where pupils participated in various reading activities. The Playhouse Company was invited to perform a narrative entitled ‘Sthandwa And The Nature Thieves’ to promote the importance of reading.

A basket full of goodies was raffled with the winner, a grade one pupil, Ndabenhle Mjila, scooping the prize. The month ended with the prefects’ induction ceremony and National Children’s Dental Health Month, which was hosted by Colgate.
The programme showcased effective ways to prevent dental health issues. An Easter programme was held on March 18 where an enactment of the significance of Easter was performed by grade six pupils and directed by Mr K Mwwinga. A raffle of assorted Easter treats was won by Junior Chanyera of grade three.
A crazy hat parade, with pupils from grades R to seven, wowed the audience. A foundation phase scavenger Easter egg hunt was also enjoyed by all pupils.
