Moorlands Primary School in need of sponsors to dig deeper
Principal, JS Pillay told the Rising Sun that as a result of these issues, the education of pupils has continuously been disrupted, at a school, which pays its own water and electricity bill.
As the water crisis in and around KwaZulu-Natal continues, residents continue to be pulled thin as costs of flood damage, fuel, and inflation add to their woes, leaving many families and institutions without the needs that they deserve.
In response to this, the pupils, staff and SGB of Moorlands Primary are turning this adversity into triumph by raising funds to install a borehole at the school.
Principal, JS Pillay told the Rising Sun that as a result of these issues, the education of pupils has continuously been disrupted, at a school, which pays its own water and electricity bill.

“Water consumption is the major factor, contributing to an unsustainable account. The school’s borehole project will reduce the municipal bill and bring continuity and stability to education, while also providing the community with water in times of need. The school does not have a sponsor for the borehole as yet as funds and fundraising are being channelled towards this project,” explained Pillay.
The project has already begun, with the school requiring funding to continue. If you wish to assist in the initiative, call Moorlands Primary School on 031 404-3059.
