Trio nabbed in connection with school robberies
According to Col Robert Netshiunda, KZN SAPS spokesperson, police were conducting a crime prevention operation along Dr Pixley KaSeme Street in the Durban CBD when they received intelligence about a vehicle involved in robberies.
Durban Central police officers apprehended three suspects linked to business and house robberies in and around the eThekwini district on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The suspects, aged between 18 and 23, were allegedly found in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, laptops, and cellphones suspected to be stolen.

According to Col Robert Netshiunda, KZN SAPS spokesperson, police were conducting a crime prevention operation along Dr Pixley KaSeme Street in the Durban CBD when they received intelligence about a vehicle involved in robberies.
“The vehicle matching the description was intercepted, and during the subsequent search, the three occupants were found in possession of stolen goods,” Col Netshiunda said.
Preliminary investigations linked the suspects to the robbery of laptops and cellphones at a school in KwaMashu, the robbery of a teacher at a school in Ntuzuma, and a house robbery in KwaMakhutha.

Col Netshiunda said the arrests demonstrate the police’s commitment to tackling crime in the region. He urged anyone with information about these crimes or other suspicious activities to come forward and assist with investigations.
