Woman killed with a sjambok
A 60-year old woman was allegedly murdered by her 56-year old fiancé with a sjambok, last week.
According to Wentworth SAPS, the woman and the suspect had an argument and in a fit of rage, the suspect hit his fiancé across the head.
Members of Wentworth SAPS were contacted by a motorist driving on Tanjore Road and upon arriving at the scene, police found the victim near Cuttings Beach with various injuries across her head.
The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime and was arrested. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police reports, the fight started when the victim accused her fiancé of cheating.
The suspect has been detained and will appear in court soon. The family of the victim have not yet been contacted. A case of murder is being investigated by Wentworth SAPS.
