Finding hope with Narcotics Anonymous

Founded in 1953, NA is built on the principle of ‘one addict helping another’ and is open to anyone with a desire to stop using.

If drugs have taken over your life and you feel like there’s no way out, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a place where hope begins. Many of us once thought we were hopeless, but in NA we found people who understood, and a new way to live.

NA is a worldwide, non-profit fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem.

Founded in 1953, NA is built on the principle of ‘one addict helping another’ and is open to anyone with a desire to stop using. Membership is free, and NA is not connected to any religion, politics, or outside organisations.

At the heart of NA are its meetings, where addicts come together to share experience, strength, and hope. These meetings offer a safe and welcoming space, guided by anonymity – what is shared in the room stays in the room.

NA meetings are more than just a place to talk about not using. They provide community, belonging, and accountability.

By working the 12-step programme, members learn how to live drug-free and support one another on the journey of recovery.

If you’re tired of living in active addiction, if your days are centred on using or finding ways and means to get more, you are not alone. NA offers a new way of life. All it takes is the willingness to come to a meeting. Keep coming back! It works if you work it, and remember:

You are worth it!
