Scottburgh – a top events destination for immersive product experiences in the natural outdoors

Guests were also treated to family-friendly entertainment, refreshments, and curated activations that reflected the rugged capability and lifestyle positioning of the Hilux brand.

Crocworld Adventure and Conservation Centre on the KZN South Coast hosted the successful launch of Halfway Malanda Toyota’s all-new Toyota Hilux on Saturday, June 13.

This premier automotive launch has further strengthened the Scottburgh centre as a top events destination for immersive product experiences in the natural outdoors.

Hundreds of guests attended the exciting launch, which showcased the new Toyota Hilux DC 2.8 GD-6 RB SRX AT, featuring dynamic vehicle displays and highly anticipated 4×4 test drive experiences across Crocworld’s outdoor terrain.

Guests were also treated to family-friendly entertainment, refreshments, and curated activations that reflected the rugged capability and lifestyle positioning of the Hilux brand.

Powered by Toyota’s proven 2.8-litre GD-6 turbo-diesel engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, this new Hilux delivers 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque.

The double-cab model also boasts a refined interior, advanced infotainment featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a comprehensive safety package that includes Vehicle Stability Control and Hill Assist Control. Its bold exterior, combined with durability and premium comfort, positions it for both business and leisure users.

Speaking at the event, Shane Grant, CEO of Halfway Malanda Toyota, said Crocworld provided a standout platform for engagement.

“The Toyota Hilux launch at Crocworld was ideal because the venue offers a unique combination of natural outdoor environments, adventure experiences, and excellent event facilities. The venue aligns well with the adventurous and rugged character of the new Toyota Hilux, providing an authentic setting for demonstrations and test drives,” he said.

From a business events perspective, Grant says Crocworld is a versatile destination offering:

  • Large-scale outdoor activation space
  • Scenic, brand-aligned environments for experiential marketing
  • Family-friendly attractions that increase dwell time and engagement
  • Strong regional accessibility on the KZN South Coast
  • A growing reputation as a hybrid conservation and lifestyle venue

The Toyota Hilux launch adds to Crocworld’s rapidly expanding events calendar and reinforces its role as a hub for corporate activations, community events, and large-scale sports experiences. Through collaboration with the on-site Badger’s Cycling and Sports Centre – responsible for developing the local trails – Crocworld has already hosted the third round of the KZN Provincial XCO Series, with the Renishaw Solstice Race, a KZN Super Classic Race, planned for June 20, 2026.

“These trails and events are transforming the way people experience the KZN South Coast. We’re proud to have hosted Halfway Malanda Toyota for this prestigious launch, and as we continue to position ourselves as a key adventure hub and events destination, we look forward to hosting many more community-focused engagements,” said Susan Badat, manager of Crocworld Adventure and Conservation Centre.

Beyond major events, Crocworld continues to evolve into a multi-dimensional attraction that combines conservation and education with outdoor recreational activities.

Visitors and event guests can also enjoy on-site experiences, including wildlife encounters, guided talks, family activities, and dining at the Fish Eagle Café.
