Lenasia senior (84) returns from America with another bronze medal

At 84-years-old, Lenasia resident, Valasunthari Naidoo continues to prove that age is no barrier to an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
The spirited senior recently travelled to the United States to visit family and participated in the Klompen Classic 5km Run/ Walk in Pella, Iowa.
Accompanying her in the event were her grandchildren, Bevan and Kadyn Cornelius, who reside in America.
Together, the three participated in the popular race, creating special family memories while promoting an active lifestyle across generations.
Naidoo once again excelled in the competition, earning a bronze medal in her age category and bringing another international achievement home to Lenasia.
This is not the first time she has made her mark on the international stage. In 2024, the Nirvana Senior Citizens Home resident also participated in the Klompen Classic while visiting family in the United States and returned home with a bronze medal. Her determination and commitment to staying active continue to inspire many within the Lenasia community.
The Klompen Classic is an annual 5km run and walk held in Pella, Iowa, as part of the city’s renowned Tulip Time Festival.
