2026 KAP sani2c creates thrilling magic
The Rising Sun Community Newspapers’ very own CEO, Avish Maharaj and his brother, Ashay Maharaj, also joined the action, participating for the very first time in this test of endurance cyclist race.
The 2026 KAP sani2c mountain bike stage race finished off to an epic day at the Scottburgh Golf Club on Saturday, May 9. Starting at Glencairn Farm in Underberg, and finishing in Scottburgh, this three day MTB cycle of endurance tests cyclists to their limits.
The Adventure runs from May 6 to 8, while the ‘OG’ (race) takes place from May 7 to 9. Three stages of riding through spectacular scenes! Stage three of the 2026 KAP sani2c ‘OG’ UCI racing saw Toyota Specialised Imbuko 2’s Travis Stedman and Jaedon Terlouw sealed overall victory in the men’s category.
Efficient Infiniti Insure’s Samantha Sanders and Vera Looser completed a dominant week with another stage victory to become the KAP sani2c UCI Women’s champions.
The Rising Sun Community Newspapers’ very own CEO, Avish Maharaj and his brother, Ashay Maharaj, also joined the action, participating for the very first time in this test of endurance cyclist race.
Commenting on the race, Avish described it as one of the most memorable and adrenaline-packed adventures that they have ever completed. “It was an unforgettable experience. Every stage of the race pushed us beyond our comfort zones. The KAP sani2c is so much more than just a mountain bike race – it’s a true test of endurance and sheer determination.
There were many challenging points, but the incredible camaraderie and support along the way motivated us to keep on going. Crossing the finish line in Scottburgh on Saturday alongside my brother was a moment that was incredibly rewarding, especially considering that it was our first time taking on this gruelling yet exhilarating event. We commend the organisers for creating magic through this event and are thankful for the memories that we take with us.”
