Historic wrestling event puts KwaDukuza in the spotlight

KwaDukuza, it’s your time to shine! Fans will be treated to a thrilling line-up of professional wrestling matches featuring some of South Africa’s most powerful and charismatic wrestlers.

The community of KwaDukuza is geared up for what is being described as ‘the most explosive night of sports entertainment’ presented by World Wrestling Alliance!

Taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 3pm, at the KwaDukuza Mall, KwaDukuza Wrestle Rampage is all set to showcase exhilarating action, electrifying rivalries, and unforgettable moments.

Wrestling champ, Daryl Naidu, also known as Nightmare, was excited to share more about the upcoming wrestling extravaganza.

“KwaDukuza, it’s your time to shine! Fans will be treated to a thrilling line-up of professional wrestling matches featuring some of South Africa’s most powerful and charismatic wrestlers. This is history in the making as it is the first live professional wrestling event to ever be done on the KZN North Coast,” Nightmare said.

Nightmare has played a critical role in giving local and international wrestling stars a platform to shine across the country, paving the way for the next generation of wrestlers.

“It’s a rewarding and exciting feeling knowing this,” he said, reaffirming that he will always strive to uplift his community. Fans will be interested to know that an amazing line-up has been secured for KwaDukuza Wrestle Rampage, and according to Nightmare, high-flying manoeuvres, devastating slams, fierce championship ambitions, and non-stop entertainment will be the order of the day from the opening bell to the final showdown.

“My student, ‘The Shadow’, will be my tag team partner in taking on Steve Eden and Hector Payne. This is a DBN vs JHB rivalry, and Steve Eden always has a lot of negative comments to say about our Durban people. The last match is a Battle Royale, whereby all wrestlers will be in the ring at the same time, but only one will emerge victorious. The atmosphere just gets better and better for each event. The audience is part of the event, and their interaction is always fun and engaging. They become part of the show,” Nightmare revealed.

When asked about how this event would contribute to the community, Nightmare stated that it is WWA’s aim to grow the event to include local vendors and create a weekend festival in the future.

“The community will enjoy high-end entertainment that a family can attend. It’s affordable as well, so it’s a win-win situation,” he said. Nightmare had an enthusiastic smile on his face when he was asked about what is next for WWA.

“We are expanding our events into other regions of KZN and will be opening a training school in Durban. Our aim is to build up to a mega event similar to WrestleMania that happens overseas,” he shared.

As the WWA team prepares for KwaDukuza Wrestle Rampage, Nightmare’s message to his beloved community is to support local events.

“By doing so, we can create our very own superstars in the various music, acting and sports industries. I urge parents to get their kids more actively involved from a young age,” he concluded.

With just a few days left until KwaDukuza Wrestle Rampage makes history, fans are encouraged to bring their voices and energy and get ready to witness a magnificent scene where warriors collide and legends begin. The first match begins at 6pm. For more information, call 062-452-2142.
