The countdown is over! The Rising Sun Chatsworth AC Ultra Marathon has taken over the streets with an atmosphere that is nothing short of electric.

From as early as 5:30am, Rising Sun Street in the Chatsworth CBD has been alive with a pulsating energy.

Runners from all walks of life are moving as one – all connected by a shared purpose. The sense of camaraderie is unmistakable and palpable.

This is not just a race – it’s a shining celebration of unity and community spirit.

Firing the gun!

The different race categories each bring their own unique vibe to the day:

  • The 52km ultra marathon is intense and focused, with experienced athletes pushing their limits in pursuit of endurance glory.
  • The 25km race carries a determined yet uplifting energy, as runners challenge themselves beyond familiar distances.
  • Meanwhile, the 10km run or walk is filled with joy and laughter = families, friends, and casual participants moving together, turning the route into a celebration of fun, fitness, and togetherness.

At the heart of it all is the finish at Chatsworth Oval, where the energy builds into a festival-like atmosphere.

Adding to the buzz is the excitement around the lucky draw, where one participant could walk away with a mountain bike sponsored by Solomons Cycles — but only if they’re there to claim it, keeping anticipation high throughout the day.

Officials from the Rising Sun Chatsworth Athletic Club shared, “The energy out here today is incredible. Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, you can feel the spirit of this community in every moment. This is what the event is all about.”

As the race continues and the sun rises higher over Chatsworth, the streets remain filled with sound, colour, and connection. Today isn’t just about distance or time – it’s about atmosphere, shared experience, and the powerful joy of moving forward together.
