Police uncover cache of illegal guns and signal jammers
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat serious crimes in the region.
Umlazi police officers, backed by the Durban Metro Police tracing team and investigation unit, swooped in on a suspected carjacker’s hideout in the Emhlabeni Informal Settlement after receiving crucial intelligence.

Upon entering the property, officers found a 9mm Parabellum Luger pistol with a magazine, linked to a Umlazi carjacking case, as well as a 9mm Star pistol with a defaced serial number and magazine, a homemade revolver pistol, a black 9mm Glock magazine, 17 live 9mm rounds, and four signal jammers with different serial numbers.

The suspect was not present at the scene, but police are working to apprehend the individual and investigate the extent of their carjacking activities. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat serious crimes in the region.
