Wanted suspect killed in confrontation with Umlazi detectives
A thorough search of the deceased suspect revealed two firearms with magazines, nine live rounds of ammunition, and a cellphone.
A team of detectives from the Umlazi SAPS received crucial information regarding the whereabouts of a 22-year-old suspect, recently.
The individual was wanted in connection with a string of serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, and business robbery.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the detectives tracked the suspect to a location in F Section, Sdeku Radebe Road. Upon arrival, the police officers were met with gunfire from the suspect. In response, the officers returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect.

Umlazi SAPS station commander, Brig Nkabinde praised his team for their prompt and courageous action.
“The swift response of our detectives prevented this notorious criminal from continuing to terrorise our community. I commend their bravery and dedication to keeping our citizens safe,” said Brig Nkabinde.
