Temporary relief for Tongaat flood victims

The flood victims were grateful for the kind gesture of a hot and delicious meal.

The pleas for help from a community representative of the 44 families in Plane Street, Trurolands, Tongaat, who were affected by the floods of 2022 and again on Saturday, last week, swiftly moved the Religion Without Borders (RWB) team into rescue mode.

The humanitarian aid organisation’s team of volunteers, together with its founder, Vishnu Govender, cooked a meal at the disaster site on Tuesday morning, for those reeling after the storm which left next to nothing for the affected residents.

Govender said, “When everything in life seems like you have reached a dead-end, never lose the one thing inside you which is hope.”
