Skill and experience shine at Chatsworth Bowling Club tournament

The club welcomes new members and has no age restrictions for joining.

The Chatsworth Bowling Club recently hosted its men’s and ladies’ singles championships, with participants competing in a knockout format.

In the ladies’ final, Jane Naicker faced Priya Bhownath and delivered an impressive performance to secure a 21–11 victory.

Naicker remained unbeaten throughout the competition, demonstrating excellent bowling skills and consistency.

The men’s final saw Anthony Patrick take on Sydney Puller in a thrilling encounter. Patrick, a dedicated member of the club for the past 10 years, has enjoyed considerable success, winning numerous club competitions and league titles.

He regularly competes in the Nomads Nationals in South Africa and has earned accolades including Best Port Natal Player and Best Second Player at the tournament.

A seasoned bowler with extensive experience, Patrick has represented various clubs and teams and has also competed at national level. He previously served as vice-chairman of the club and currently contributes as a member of the selection committee and as a coach.

Outside of bowls, Patrick is also a talented one-man live band musician and entertainer.

Naicker has been involved in the sport of bowls for the past decade and was coached by Nobby Hariram. Through dedication and commitment, she has become a successful competitor, winning several club competitions and participating in various club and league matches across Durban.

The Chatsworth Bowling Club extends its sincere congratulations to both Naicker and Patrick on their achievements. They will go on to represent the club at the Champions of Champions Tournament.

The club welcomes new members and has no age restrictions for joining. Members encourage interested individuals to become part of the Chatsworth Bowling Club family.

Games are played on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9am, as well as on Saturdays.
