I concur with David Fourie’s article “Clean up your mess Ugu” (MSCRS May 17-23, 2022).
We have the same problem in First Street Park Rynie, where Ugu did a new connection more than 18 months ago.
They dug across the street but failed to restore it to its original condition.
I have telephoned and emailed to report this nuisance, only to receive an SMS a day or so later advising that it has been repaired.
But nothing had been done. In the picture above, one will notice that it has still not been repaired.
To add insult to injury, there is a leak.
The other issue is leaking pipes.
The other street that I frequent is School Circle in Park Rynie.
Half this street is always wet – thousands of clean water is going to waste.
When we didn’t have water for three weeks, all these streets were dry.
Ugu should get their teams on the ground and rectify all these issues urgently.
