Soccer coach accused of rape abandons bail application

A 37-year-old man, who is a soccer coach, is facing seven counts of rape.

He is alleged to have raped minor children from November 2022 to May 2023.

He appeared several times in the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court, since his arrest.

However, last week, he abandoned his bail application.

The regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, confirmed this and said, “The matter was remanded to June 26 for further investigations.”
