On Saturday, Pinetown Funeral Services held the grand unveiling of the newest addition to their fleet at VC Gardens in Shallcross, as they lay claim to the title of first in the world to create a Rolls Royce Ghost hearse in a lively event.

Now, at the peak of their powers, they have created what they claim to be the world’s first Rolls Royce Ghost hearse, which, with its luxurious interior and sheer presence, will surely be the first choice for many families in their loved one’s final journey.

One of the directors of Pinetown Funerals, Christopher Moodley, explained that they are delighted with the arrival of the Rolls, but will continue with their signature service.

The Rolls Royce Ghost hearse is the first of its kind in the world, boasting a price tag of approximately R3 million.

“We want to give back to the community in knowing that they are giving their loved ones a dignified send-off. It is the last thing that they will be doing for their family members and our services will be our tribute to them. As for the Ghost, if it is available, then people will get it. It is not related to cost. We come from humble beginnings, and we just found that we could have this event to showcase our newest edition to our fleet, which is the best in the country at the moment. We want to thank you, the community for supporting us. We thank the religious organisations and all the service providers as well as our staff,” said Moodley.

Local community activist, Pst Cyril Pillay, was also in attendance, as he congratulated Pinetown Funeral Services and Clive Moodley on this monumental achievement.

“It was a great evening, which showcased the success of a humble undertaker from Shallcross, who now operates one of the best businesses with Pinetown Funeral Services. I think it is the only Rolls Royce hearse in the world and that is simply extraordinary. We want to thank the management and staff, especially Clive Moodley and Christopher Moodley for providing simple, humble, and mostly disadvantaged people with dignity in death,” said Pst Pillay.
