Teacher swops classroom for political aspirations
Chatsworth councillor is determined to implement change in his community.
Local teacher at Crescentridge Primary school in Moorton, Madhanlall Dasarath (Prakash), is contesting the bi-election in ward 73 on July 2. Dasarath is a political activist for over 30 years and an award winning teacher for 35 years. The prolific award winning letter writer to major local and national newspapers has gained him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
He was one of the founding members of the Minority Front, together with the late Amichand Rajbansi. Dasarath has actively addressed many issues in the greater Chatsworth area and is passionate about the environment, crime reduction, and adding additional recreational facilities in the area such as parks, pools, and libraries. The community activist is well motivated in local and provincial affairs and is a protégé of the Bengal tiger and will roar in the corridors of power for the people of Chatsworth.
