Elections update: Counting of votes almost complete
ANC leads in the province, followed by the DA.
UPDATE: May 9, 2014, 14:53pm: The tallying of the votes is almost complete with the figure being at 98,78 percent on a national level.
With just a while more to go, residents are eager to find out the final outcome of the fifth national elections in South Africa. With regards to the province of KwaZulu-Natal, the votes are 93.33 percent complete.
Initial report: As the counting of votes reaches its final stages, the African National Congress has taken the lead in both national and provincial elections in the KZN region.

With more than 60 percent of the vote nationally and provincially in KwaZulu-Natal, it is certain that the ANC has won the heart of many voters in the area. Coming in in second place is the Democratic Alliance with more than 12 percent of the vote followed by the IFP with more than 10 percent on both levels.

According to reports, the IEC expects the process to be completed by this afternoon, with the official results to be announced on tomorrow (May 10).
