Thousands of proud residents cast their vote
Voting process goes smoothly at voting stations throughout Durban.
The chilly weather conditions in Durban certainly did not deter the spirits of thousands of residents who showed up at voting stations throughout the area to cast their vote in the fifth national elections.
The voting process is successfully continuing at various voting stations in Chatsworth, Phoenix and the Durban CBD at this point. Excited voters awoke early this morning to participate in the elections process while many residents are still making their way to the respective stations.

While many residents have voted in the past, born-frees and also first-time voters were definitely in a celebratory mode having made their mark for the first time. First-time voter, Ms M Naidoo said that she is confident in the political party which she voted for. “I am overjoyed that I participated in this year’s national elections. After all, my vote is my voice,” she happily said.
Voting stations throughout the country will close at 9pm.
