Various primary schools attend peace and unity event

The theme of the event was ‘Unity through Food, Song, Dance, Drama and Storytelling’ and the schools performed two items each in relation to this theme.

About 200 pupils from various primary schools in Chatsworth attended the Children’s Conference on Peace and Unity hosted by the Food for Life Children’s Projects at the Woodhurst Multi-Cultural Centre, recently.

The theme of the event was ‘Unity through Food, Song, Dance, Drama and Storytelling’ and the schools performed two items each in relation to this theme. The event also included a puppet show and a children’s musician.

The pupils were also presented with gift bags consisting of school stationery and lunch boxes. Manager of the project, Divesh Maharaj indicated that FFL was committed to supporting educational development and this initiative was a continuation of the organisation’s peace education programme.
