Man killed in suspected Merebank hit-and-run, police appeal for witnesses
Detective Sergeant SV Nzama is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist police to come forward.
Wentworth SAPS have opened a culpable homicide investigation after a man, aged 35, was found dead in Merebank, on Wednesday evening.
According to police, a complaint was received on July 9 at about 7:38pm regarding a male lying on the side of the road at the intersection of Basil February and Himalayas Road.

A Wentworth SAPS community service centre patrol van was dispatched to the scene. A PT Alarms security member was already at the scene when police officers arrived.
The deceased had sustained bodily injuries and was found unresponsive. He was wearing a green hoodie jacket, an orange T-shirt, black jeans and black takkies.
Preliminary police investigations suggest the man may have been knocked by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The man was declared dead at the scene.
His body has been transported to the Pinetown Government Mortuary for further processing while investigations continue.
