Crimson’s golden era continues with seven-trophy triumph

Simplex Hills Crimson Cricket Club has further strengthened its reputation as one of KwaZulu-Natal’s leading cricket clubs after a remarkable 2026 season that yielded seven major trophies and a third consecutive KZNCU Club of the Season title.

The club enjoyed success across multiple divisions, demonstrating its strength, depth and commitment to excellence.

Crimson secured the Division 2 League Championship, while its Division 3 teams claimed the first Stream Title, second Stream Title and Overall League Championship.

In Division 4, the club added both the Stream 1 title and Overall League Championship to its growing trophy cabinet.

Club chairman, Rynel Govender, said the season was about much more than silverware.

“It was a season of determination, resilience and character. Our teams faced numerous challenges throughout the campaign, but they continued to fight, adapt and believe in themselves. Those qualities became the hallmark of our success,” he said.

Govender described the club’s third successive Club of the Season award as an extraordinary achievement in a highly competitive cricketing environment. He noted that the accolade recognises not only on-field performances, but also administration, development structures, growth and the club’s overall contribution to the game.
