Freeland Park residents roll up their sleeves to beautify neighbourhood
“We’re starting small but making a significant impact.”
The Freeland Park Ratepayers Association organised a clean-up at the entrance of Freeland Park, recently. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to beautify the town.
According to the organisation’s precinct manager, Kim Verburgh, funds are contributed by residents, which helps support various projects aimed at enhancing safety and aesthetics in partnership with the Umdoni Municipality.

“We’re starting small but making a significant impact. We organise several projects, including beach clean-ups. The municipality has granted us permission, and we even designed our own road signs. Thanks to the contributions received, we’ve been able to install security cameras and provide 24-hour security. Every cent we receive goes towards making Freeland Park a better place to live in. We have various ideas to improve the neighbourhood. Today, we’re cleaning the entrance, and tomorrow, we will begin marking the roads,” said Verburgh.
