Tyre donation keeps school transport on track

Ensuring the safety of these children and helping them access education is something that Super Tyres is proud to contribute to.

St Martin’s Diocesan Home for Children recently received a much-needed boost to their school transport, thanks to a generous tyre donation from Super Tyres.

With a legacy of over 100 years of care, St Martin’s provides a safe and nurturing environment for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma – equipping them with the support they need to grow into confident, capable adults.

“Our school bus is essential for ensuring our children get to and from school safely every day. We transport 80 children to 10 different locations across the Berea, Overport, and Glenwood areas. Our dedicated driver does an incredible job, but our 23-seater VW Crafter needed six new tyres to stay roadworthy. Super Tyres came to our rescue by donating and fitting all six tyres – an incredible gift that keeps our wheels turning,” says Jo Thompson, fundraiser at St Martin’s.

Dean Horn, managing director at Super Tyres, also commented. He said, “We are honoured to support the important work being done at St Martin’s. Ensuring the safety of these children and helping them access education is something we’re proud to contribute to.”

Thompson shared that the Super Tyres Gateway branch team was outstanding. “Their kindness, professionalism and efficiency made the experience even more special. We are truly grateful,” Thompson said.
