Meet Chopped Liver Productions – the comedy group taking Gauteng by storm
Catch Chopped Liver Productions’ debut show and experience the magic of live theatre with a healthy dose of humour, as the tour to various communities around Gauteng is in line.
The talented quartet of Yugan Naidoo (55), Patrick Samuels (56), Ravi Subramoney (63), and Vivian Moodley (75) may have a combined age of over 200 years, but they’re proving that comedy has no expiration date.
Formed in November 2024, Chopped Liver Productions brings together four seasoned performers with a shared passion for entertaining, empowering, and educating audiences. But where did their unique name come from?
The story goes that Ravi, the last to join the group, felt left out of the planning process. One day, he jokingly exclaimed, “What am I, chopped liver?” And just like that, the name stuck! Despite Ravi’s contribution, the group humorously refuses to give him credit.
Apart from the comedy, there are some great attempts by the cast to support Rav, the Chopped Liver – Muso with some great tunes and pumping beats.
Their debut show is a family comedy with a dash of political satire, drawing inspiration from the chaos of marriage and government. With a workshop-style approach to crafting new material, Chopped Liver Productions is about collaboration and creativity.

So, what keeps them going? “Passion, purpose, and a shared desire to entertain. Plus, we take joy in making each other’s lives unbearable through relentless comedy,” they say.
Their plans include mentoring local performers, making theatre a regular part of Gauteng’s entertainment scene, and, of course, making audiences laugh. With their combined experience in theatre, film, and television, they’re set to bring a new level of excitement to the local comedy scene.
