The film, ‘Dancing In The Wind’, directed by Keyur Maharaj and produced by local filmmaker, Enrico Mark Ramnarian, has been selected to screen at the Durban 48-Hour Film Festival. Ramnarian believes in the importance of nurturing local talent and putting Verulam on the map through art. “I want to inspire others in our community to embrace their artistic talents. Projects like the 48-Hour Film Project are a great platform to showcase our culture and creativity,” he said.
The 48-Hour Film Project, a global filmmaking competition, presents participants with a unique challenge: to create an entire film within 48 hours. Each team is assigned a genre, character, prop, and line of dialogue that must be incorporated into their film. ‘Dancing In The Wind’ rose to the challenge, with the production team overcoming time constraints to deliver a captivating, emotional piece.
“We didn’t face many challenges besides time being our enemy. Thanks to my hardworking crew who gave 100 percent of their dedication, we were able to roll out production smoothly and create something truly special,” Ramnarian said.
With ‘Dancing In The Wind’, Ramnarian and his team hope to inspire a new wave of local creators and continue to build Verulam’s reputation as a hub for artistic talent. ‘Dancing In The Wind’ will be screened at Suncoast Casino on Saturday, October 26.
