Spiced mushroom skewers

Enjoy hot with a fresh salad.

These spiced mushrooms are so delicious, just like juicy little flavour bombs! They can be enjoyed on their own or as a side dish with grilled meat or chicken.

Ingredients: 

For the mushrooms: 

  • 250g mushrooms (of your choice)
  • ¼ cup of melted butter

For the spice mix: 

  • One teabag of Tetley black tea (open the bag and use loose leaves)
  • One tablespoon of sea salt
  • One tablespoon of black pepper
  • One tablespoon of smoked paprika

(Mix all the spices together and store in a cool cupboard until ready to use)

Method: 

  • Preheat your griddle pan.
  • Place a row of mushrooms on a skewer.
  • Brush the mushrooms with melted butter, and add a pinch of the spice mix on the skewers before placing the mushrooms on the hot griddle pan.
  • Grill the mushrooms for about five minutes, turn them over to cook both sides evenly and make sure to get grill marks.
  • Enjoy hot with a fresh salad.
