Self-published author to launch book on her triumph over COVID-19

Williams has other four offerings in the form of e-Books. These are Christian-inspired books for women.

With just a few more days to go before the launch of her highly anticipated book: ‘COVID Diaries’, former Austerville resident and author, Joy Williams, cannot contain her excitement and is counting down the hours until the big day.

The book launch, which will be in the form of a sit-down breakfast at the Bluff Eco Park, will take place on Saturday, August 26.

Explaining what her book is about, Williams, 60, said it was about how she miraculously survived COVID-19 in 2021 after the doctors had given her only six months to live after the virus had completely damaged her lungs.

To make matters worse, she and her husband had recently moved to East London and were far away from home and their loved ones.

The mother of two says it took just six months to write the inspirational book, which aims to bring hope to the hopeless. “I want to inspire and encourage others that even though they face challenges, they will push through with faith and hope in God. I highly recommend people read my book because they will be encouraged to know that they are not alone. In times of tests and challenges, God can still do miracles for them,” she said.

“I am very excited to be coming home to launch my book and to be able to share my miracle story here in Durban. Thank you, everyone, for your prayers and support,” she said. The book launch breakfast is open to members of the public.
