Lenasia Secondary School, this past weekend, celebrated its historic achievement of being the first school in Lenasia to turn 60. A spectacular event hosted by the school was attended by esteemed Alumni of the school.
Lenasia Secondary is revered for hosting glamorous functions. However, it must be said this event was second to none – from the guest list of past educators and famous alumni to the décor and the scrumptious food that was served.
The Deputy Minister of Education Enver Surty as well as Minister Valli Moosa, alumni of the school, were most impressed with the high standard and quality of the school. The two spoke of their humble beginnings at Lenz High and how exceptionally proud they are too see what the school has achieved today.
They, and all who attended, shared and supported the vision and the mission of the current principal, Hawa Munshi, to make the school a world class one and hopefully, in the near future, a paperless school.
Asif Laher the MC and also an alumnus of the school kept the crowd entertained with the tales and stories of past educators and learners and all left feeling extremely nostalgic and thoroughly fulfilled and entertained at this world class reunion.
Happy Birthday to Lenz High and ,may your vision and mission become a reality.
