The company we keep always has an impact and influence on our lives and choices. If we want to start this year off on a positive footing, despite the challenges we may all face on a daily basis, begin by being aware of the company we keep.
We only get one life. One chance to make a difference, to make an impact, to do something and be ‘a somebody’ to a somebody.
When we surround ourselves with ‘average’-minded people, who will hold us back and keep us from our dreams, we limit our actions, activities and ambitions.
In order to take on the adversities, the challenges or all of the obstacles that come our way, we can only overcome these with a winning mind-set.
So, how do we start working on our mind-set?
Initially, we begin by eliminating negativity in our lives. Especially those, who say to you, ‘You can’t do something’, you’re ‘not good enough’, you’re ‘not worthy of success.’
Be mindful and surround yourself with positive people that will lift you higher.
Doing the hard work – Outlay the time, effort and energy on working on achieving your daily goals.
Developing your craft and mastering your skills. Invest in yourself. Study and expand your knowledge base by not having one but many options under your belt. I say this in view of the fact that we as South Africans cannot rely on only being an expert in one field.
Becoming someone you’ve never become and by doing things you’ve never done.
That’s what it’s going to take, to have a winning mind-set.
Repeating patterns, over and over again and developing ‘you’ into a powerful belief that anything is possible. Oprah Winfrey said, “If you want to be successful in your life, you must surround yourself with winners.” Be your own winner!
