Officers acknowledged for combating crime

The members received a certificate of recognition signed by Brighton Beach station commander, Col Carl Grobler at an awards ceremony held last week.

Five police officials stationed at Brighton Beach SAPS and the Durban Flying Squad, together with a reaction unit officer from Security Force, were recognised for their good work after the arrest of a wanted armed man in June 2016. The members received a certificate of recognition signed by Brighton Beach station commander, Col Carl Grobler at an awards ceremony held last week.

Manager of Grand Rapids Spur in Bluff, Willie Aucamp and his management became aware of the good work done by those involved and extended an invitation to the team to visit the steak ranch and be spoiled with a meal voucher.

“The team showcased that through partnership policing with internal and external role player, operational success can be achieved. We here at Grand Rapids Spur would like to partner with Brighton Beach SAPS to fight crime. We hereby extend a challenge to those police officials who work within the Brighton Beach policing prescient in partnership with other role players and recover unlicensed or licensed firearms which were used during trio-crimes, by rewarding them with a meal voucher for the recovery of a firearm with an arrest,” said Aucamp.

Brighton Beach SAPS management commend all involved in achieving the success and on receiving their certificates. We also express our thanks and appreciation towards the management of Grand Rapids Spur for recognising the good work done by all involved.
