“The accused were each sentenced for a house robbery that was committed on January 5, 2024, in the Umhlatuzana area. At approximately 1pm, the complainant had received information about the perpetrators that could possibly be involved in her house robbery, where valuables to the value of about R20, 000 was taken from her premises. This brave and courageous lady, who a few hours earlier was robbed under traumatic circumstances, was not deterred and went out to the location where the possible robbers were arrested. She immediately identified these individuals as those who robbed her at her premises. Our seasoned detective, Det Sgt Mvovo, managed to ensure all evidence was gathered and there was nothing left unaccounted for. The witness, who then led evidence in the Durban Regional Court, was so good that the defence decided to change their plea to guilty,” said W/O Chetty.
