Operation leads to discovery of chop shop in Umlazi
Station commander of Umlazi SAPS, Brig BH Nkabinde, said, “I applaud the officers for their hard work and efforts displayed towards eradicating crime in the area. Such operations are vital to clean up the streets of Umlazi.”
The Economic Infrastructure Task Team and Isipingo police officers led an operation in Umlazi’s V section after receiving information about a chop shop operating in the area.
Upon arriving at the said address, the information turned out to be positive.

Police officers recovered a silver grey Polo Vivo, which was stolen in the Newlands area and a white Ford Ranger stolen in Durban Central. The vehicles were taken to Umlazi SAPS. No arrests have been made as yet, however, police are investigating further.
