Centenary Secondary principal motivates grade 12 pupils ahead of finals

“You are the future leaders, who have the potential to change the country. Your future lies in your hands,” the principal said.

Principal of Centenary Secondary School, Douglas Gounden, hosted a principal’s breakfast on Tuesday, for the top 10 grade 12 pupils of the school.

The breakfast was to honour and motivate the pupils to strive towards achieving seven As. Different speakers delivered motivational talks to the eager pupils.

They were encouraged to pursue excellence while remembering their humanity. Kiashna Padayachee, one of the top 10 pupils, thanked her teachers for their efforts and dedication to teaching and guiding them.

She also expressed her gratitude to her teachers and all the parents for their support. The top 10 grade 12 pupils in no particular order are Millicent Amein, Leah Pillay, Maleha Amla, Nkanyezi Hlangu, Hasan Jacobs, Nevada Maistry, Rizwana Dawood, Kiashna Padayachee, Yumnah Vally and Raehana Ayoob.

Gounden praised the top pupils and informed them that they were awesome but maybe did not realise their full potential.

“You are the future leaders, who have the potential to change the country. Your future lies in your hands,” he said.
