Local dance crew set to represent Chatsworth at Hip-Hop International
The dance school aims to inspire and empower the youth of Chatsworth and surrounding areas.
The Resurrected Dance Crew (RDC) is a gospel dance team based in the heart of the Chatsworth community. Founded in 2010, the RDC has been following its calling to spread its love of dance through the community.
Since its inception, the RDC, together with the community, has been witness to the many social difficulties that affect the youth.
Their passion has evolved to create change in the community through the power of dance, thus the Resurrected Dance Academy was born.
The dance school aims to inspire and empower the youth of Chatsworth and surrounding areas.

Students of the academy are taught by members of the RDC and are instilled with disciplines and principles to encourage a healthy lifestyle, improve their self-confidence, develop their spirituality, define future goals, and contribute towards them becoming progressive and valuable members of society.
The RDC’s Damien Chetty told the Rising Sun, “Most recently, we were selected to represent Chatsworth/ KZN at Hip-Hop International in Silverstar Casino Johannesburg on Thursday, April 27. Through this competition, there is even potential to represent South Africa in the USA. It’s a great opportunity and we would appreciate assistance in our journey. Your financial contribution will enable us to continue inspiring the youth of Chatsworth. We would be eternally grateful for donations, equipment hire or services towards our show, uniform sponsors, and/or transportation fees. It would be greatly appreciated if you would be able to assist us in any way possible with our journey.”
