PICS: Shallcross man killed in house fire
Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.
Despite rescue attempts by a neighbour and armed response members, a Shallcross man died following a house fire on Mount Blanc Street, on Friday afternoon.

Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. 
Prosecure’s operations manager, Sanjay Mohan, stated that when he got to the house on Mount Blanc Street, the home was already engulfed in flames. 
“A resident from the area tried to assist the occupants of the home, together with one of Prosecure’s armed response members. The man, who is about 60-years-old, was trapped in one of the rooms. The window was broken and despite attempts to save the man, he succumbed to his injuries,” he said.

Members of the Chatsworth Fire Department and local SAPS are currently at the scene.
