Classroom Engineering 4Kids

The initiative, titled ‘Classroom Engineering 4Kids’, will support and inspire both primary and high school pupils in the field of technology education.

A new initiative aimed at supporting and inspiring pupils in the field of electronic engineering was launched at a workshop held at the Meadowlands Technical High School, last week.

The initiative, titled ‘Classroom Engineering 4Kids’, will support and inspire both primary and high school pupils in the field of technology education.

The endeavour also aims to provide some basic informal training for school leavers and electronics enthusiasts, so that they can either enter the job market, become entrepreneurs or further their studies in this field.

Initiator of the project, Divesh Maharaj, indicated that electronic engineering is based largely on applied mathematics and the ability to design.

Therefore, pupils require support, encouragement and inspiration in this filed of study.

In this respect, the project is mainly aimed at pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, and all services are offered free of charge.

The initiative aims to achieve this by exposing pupils to fun ideas and integrative learning techniques, thus transforming the teaching and learning of electronics engineering into an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Principal of Meadowlands, Mr SV Naidoo, welcomed the initiative and looked forward to further engagement and support. For more information, email [email protected]
