Security companies join forces with police to fight crime

An enlightening and successful force multipliers breakfast was hosted by Brighton Beach SAPS station commissioner, Col C Ngubane, recently.
During this gathering, the station commissioner formed the station strategies to reduce crime and stabilise problematic crimes.
Security companies, who provide a static and reactive service within the policing area, had committed themselves to support police with their strategies to address crime.
Since the inception of the partnership policing initiative, two motorcades have been hosted in the Clairwood industrial, business and residential area, and the Bluff business and residential sectors.

During these operational actions, no serious crimes were reported, and crime decreased.
Security companies also attend on a weekly basis the Gocock meeting by which crime trends, threats, suspicious persons and vehicles are circulated. Security companies assist on a daily basis to patrol streets.
Brighton Beach SAPS has seen the effect of the presence and commitment of the security companies in the Clairwood and Bluff area, and they are thankful and much appreciative of the support they receive.
Security companies are also deployed for disruptive operations, cordon and search operations, foot patrol operations, post-box knock and drop operations and creating awareness.
Partnership policing initiative helps police to achieve their mission, which is to create a safe and secure environment for community members and visitors to the policing area.
