Chairman of the Isipingo Business Community Forum, Junaid Iqbal said that police visibility has impacted in the decrease of crime.
“I have seen the difference in the area, however, the community needs constant visible policing as there are grey areas where criminals are looting. But all in all, the Isipingo SAPS are doing great under the leadership of station commander, Col Jali,” he said.
Long-time business owner and resident of Isipingo, Danny Naidoo said that even though the crime levels have decreased, it is important that police continue to patrol the area to ensure that it remains that way.

“Over the years, the crime has become uncontrollable. Recently, the decrease in crime has caused us to have a little more freedom rather than fearing for our life every day. We can now rest assured that the police are on the lookout for perpetrators who wish to commit crime in Isipingo,” he said.
Local Isipingo ward 90 councillor, Sunil Brijmohan said that the rapid decrease in crime is because of the new station commander at the Isipingo SAPS who has taken it upon himself to ensure that no stone goes unturned.
“We need to give credit where it is due and I must say I am impressed with the positive response that we have received from him. I would also like to thank the Isipingo CPF together with the many sub-forums, who have joined the police and community in the fight against crime. Our deputy mayor, Fawzia Peer and her Metro task team lead by KC Naicker have also played an instrumental role in the decrease of crime,” he explained.
Communications officer of the Isipingo SAPS, Cpt David Ragavan said that it is not up to police to make sure that the community is safe but the community itself.
“We have had successful operations recently with many criminals arrested and now behind bars. I would like to commend my station commander on his outstanding and hard work he puts into making sure that we all carry out our duties to the best of our ability,” said Cpt Ragavan.
