Upon arrival, the team of super-sleuth officers searched the entire shop and found various parts of hijacked vehicles which matched positively to carjacking cases reported at the Chatsworth SAPS and Bayview SAPS. Police reports have indicated that the suspect fled the scene as soon as they arrived.

However, the cops managed to seize a police radio from the premises. Communications officer of the eThekwini Inner South cluster, Priya Nunkumar said, “Members will continue their investigation to link other hijacked vehicles from the ‘chop shop’ to possible carjacking cases in the area.”
