Drugs worth half a million seized in raid
According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Robert Netshiunda, intelligence was gathered about suspected illegal activities occurring at a flat on Melbourne Road and with the court having granted a search warrant, a search and seizure operation was conducted.
A 44-year-old foreign national was arrested in Umbilo, on Monday, after police seized heroin and cocaine worth over R500, 000 during a raid.
The bust followed a targeted search operation at a Melbourne Road flat.

“When the police pounced on the flat, the suspect was found in possession of heroin powder as well as bricks and broken full moons of rock cocaine. The recovered drugs are estimated to be worth a street value of just over half a million rand,” said Col Netshiunda. The man appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court, on Tuesday, facing a charge of dealing in drugs.
