Wanted suspects nabbed in joint crime intelligence operation

A joint crime intelligence operation led to the successful apprehension of wanted suspects, linked to a spate of house robberies across the province.
“On Friday, March 29, security teams involved in the crime intelligence-driven operation received information from a source regarding the whereabouts of the suspects’ vehicle. An operational team gathered and members were immediately deployed,” explained Charnel Hattingh, the head of communications and marketing for the Fidelity Services Group.

SAPS units and several security stakeholders, including members from the Fidelity Specialised Intervention Unit (SIU) proceeded on the N2 towards KwaDukuza where the vehicle, a silver grey Mercedes Benz, was spotted and intercepted.
“Three suspects were arrested, and one suspect was fatally wounded after a shootout ensued between the suspects and the teams,” added Hattingh.
