Hawks capture six in Crossmoor drug bust
The KwaZulu-Natal Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation’s provincial head, Maj Gen (Dr) Lesetja Senona welcomed the arrest of the accused and applauded the super-sleuth officers for their excellent work.
The Hawks from the Serious Organised Crime Investigation together with Crime Intelligence, Durban Metro Police, and Customs arrested six men, aged between 31 and 61, for dealing in drugs, recently.
Hawks spokesperson, Lt Col Simphiwe Mhlongo, explained that the accused were arrested following an intensive investigation by police with the outcry of the Crossmoor community only getting louder.

“Numerous undercover operations were conducted and the accused were identified. During the process, heroin capsules and pieces of crack cocaine to the street value of approximately R110, 000 were seized. Cases of dealing in drugs were registered and warrants of arrest were issued. During the arrest, a luxury vehicle with no registration papers was seized from one of the accused. Customs further seized master cases of cigarettes to the street value of R860, 000. The accused have appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court, and will reappear later in the year,” said Lt Col Mhlongo.
