A 19-year-old girl was killed while a five-year-old boy remains in critical condition in hospital after a fire gutted their home in Scottburgh Central, last week.
The fire occurred on August 20 at about 6pm. Community members, security personnel, and medical responders rushed to the scene. According to the information received, there were two children in the house.
The parents of the children, who were at work at the time, rushed to the house, and the father managed to break open the front door and rescue his son. The flames made it impossible for anyone to enter the house as everyone stood in agony.
