Police seize drugs worth more than R21, 000

Police are confident that the drug dealer will be arrested.

Drugs at an estimated street value of more than R21, 000 were recently seized by the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team in an operation within the Point area. According to Col Jay Naicker, the team were conducting their regular operation in rooting out drugs in the Durban CBD when they received information of a drug-trade which was in operation in one the buildings on Pickering Street, Point. Police proceeded to the area and the owner of the house fled.

Officers’ attempts to capture him proved futile. “One kilogram of dagga, 18 pieces of cocaine already packed for trade and 10 full moon rocks of cocaine were found inside the house. Police seized the drugs with the street value of more than R21, 000,” said Col Naicker. KwaZulu-Natal provincial spokesman, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni, applauded the narcotics team for their efficiency and dedication. “We are confident that the drug dealer will be arrested. The fight to make our province a drug-free zone will definitely continue,” she said.
