Action Galor at ASSC Cup 2023 tournament
The opening game was between A1 Middelburg XL vs T & B Brothers A Vasravi.
AZAD SWARAJ’s Annual Fundraising Tournament began on Sunday, May 14, at the Green Progress Ground in Lenasia.
Keyur Chauhan, PRO of the tournament, said that despite overnight rain and blustery conditions the match started on time, and excitement mounted as the first ball was about to be bowled. The large crowd was treated to a ding-dong match. The opening game was between A1 Middelburg XL vs T & B Brothers A Vasravi.
After winning the toss T & B Brothers put A1 Middelburg to bat. After a sedate first 11 overs, Middelburg increased the tempo and scored 114 in the last 9 overs, ending the innings 192/5.
Irfan Mukurdam scored 20 runs in the last over, including 3 gigantic sixes. In return, T & B Brothers fell short by 70 runs despite a good start, as A1 Middelburg bowlers kept a good line and length and took wickets regularly.
Player of the Match was Asraf Mukurdum – 64 (off 38 balls) & 2 Wickets.
