Abu Asvat tournament

The much anticipated Abu Asvat memorial junior cricket tournament, which incidentally also ushers in the official commencement of the Gauteng Cricket Board’s new season, will play out on September 9 and September 10. The event will be hosted at the “Lenz Tech Grounds” in Lenasia which offers the use of 8 cricket fields in one complex.
This year signals the 14th edition of the much celebrated Nation Building event which has benefitted many of the youth from impoverished backgrounds over the years. The positive impact of the tournament is evidenced by the many clubs and teams that have endorsed the values of anti-racism, anti-sectarianism and anti-sexism which is the ethos of this flagship activity of the Institute.
