The sudden passing of former MK and ANC veteran, Shirish Nanabhai has left many shocked. Nanabhai of Lenasia’s Extension 3 died on Friday, April 1 at No 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria.
Nanabhai joined Umkhonto weSizwe in 1962 and just five months later was arrested for sabotage. He was sentenced to ten years in prison and spent most of his imprisonment on Robben Island. He was released from prison in 1973 and placed under house arrest in Fordsburg until 1978.
