Crestview Primary launches partnership with Knowledge for Africa

Crestview Primary School hosted a successful launch of its partnership with Knowledge for Africa, which is a non-governmental organisation based in Gauteng, recently.
At the successful launch, attended by various stakeholders, Knowledge for Africa unveiled its vision and mission statement. Presentations were made by internationally recognised board members.
These included Ms Latha Kalpee, Prof Nick Binedell and Dr Fred Goede. The focus of this organisation is to inculcate sound human values in education. The belief is based on empowering the pupils with values based education.
While assisting teachers in helping them by infusing values based teaching in the classroom, the NGO is presently assisting in a structured upgrade of facilities at the school.

Some of the projects include the sick room, the school canteen, staff room, and the library. Plans have been approved by the Department of Public Works for the upgrade of toilets and a boundary wall around the perimeter of the school.
While Knowledge for Africa is investing heavily at Crestview Primary School, other schools will also benefit in due course. Neighbouring principals, who attended the launch, were very impressed and are eager to have similar programmes at their school.
Principal of Crestview Mr S Pillay was very excited by this partnership. He expressed his hope that this relationship grows and is sustained for the benefit of the school and the wider community. The NGO has also launched its web page at wwww.knowledgeforafrica.org
